"The L Word". My new favorite obsession!
The opening title offers a variety of "L words" They are: - lunch - laughter - lashes - lure - legs - limber - literary - linger - lattes - life - learn - luxurious - long - looking - lap - Los Angeles - lullaby - labyrinth - lesbian - love - labels - liberty - lotion - lithe - lust - linger - lady - lickable? - libido - letting go - lips - liberal - lace - loft - lovely
Every episode title also begins with the letter "L".
I'd heard about the show, pretty much from it's conception, but never had Showtime so never had a means of seeing any of the eps to form a personal opinion. In the last couple of years, I've run across dozens of clips on YouTube & became more & more curious. It wasn't until I was snowed in & alone last xmas, that I discovered the show by actually watching an episode! I was hooked immediately. lol I've since started watching the series from the beginning, thanks to Netflix. I'm currently midway through Season 2. I've described it to a friend as...it's like watching *really* good porn that has therapuetic qualities! LOL But, seriously, it's SOOOO true! :D
There's so much of it that speaks to my battered soul, on different levels. Bette & Tina's relationship reminds me of Kat & I a lot. Or, rather, my delusional misconceptions of Kat & I. Marina & Jenny also held a lot of those same qualities but tended to lean more towards the SL versions of us. Jenny is a lot like me, in general. Just a pure tortured soul without all of the drama she gets herself into. Not to mention, her struggle & growth with her writing. I can relate to Shane in that she is deathly afraid of "relationships". Kit is just my all-around favorite kind of character. Alice & Dana are just fluff for me. The "extra" characters that I've seen so far (Candace, Carmen & Helena) are just pure sex appeal! *smiles* Of the 3, Tina & Candace in jail was just...O...M...F...G...! *whew* Not sure what I'm gonna do when I get all caught up with the 5 seasons.... ;-)

Such a baby!
Hi. My name is Dum-Dum & I'm 5 years old.
Ok, not really but that's how I feel anytime I'm around my mom. It's always been that way. Gotten worse as we've both gotten older. Everything I do or say is stupid or just plain wrong. Take for instance, this blog. She got me interested in blogging for the sake of getting my writing being seen. I love to write. Being a writer has always been a dream of mine. So she told me what I had to do to start working on getting that process moving & when I set up my blog, she blasted every piece of info I had on there! I had to remove the picture I'd chosen & take off all of the profile info cuz "nobody cares about your stupid MySpace-esque interests!" Umm...ok? o.O *sighs* Had to totally re-do it. There's not an ounce of personality left to it. And, ultimately, isn't that what a blog is about?? Me. My personality, my choices, my experiences, my beliefs, my life...without *me* being a part of my writing, the thoughts & opinions I express are irrelevant. Yes? No? I mean, yeah, ok, if I were running this blog for a business, I can see how my personal choices wouldn't be pertinent but...I'm not running a business! *sighs* Anyway, so now I have 2 blogs. One done her way & 1 done my way. :-) Stay tuned. It only gets better from here...perhaps.
